1. DAY: AIRPORT – STRUNJAN: HOTEL LAGUNA 3*

Transfer from airport to seaside city of Strunjan (extra charge). Accommodation in seaside hotel 3* - HOTEL LAGUNA 3*

Located just steps away from the sea and surrounded by the Strunjan Landscape Park, Hotel Laguna is a small Mediterranean hotel comprised of 3 villas. It features a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in the public areas. Hotel Laguna - Talaso Strunjan's a la carte restaurant with its large sea-view terrace specialises in Istrian and international cuisine. The comfortable en-suite rooms feature a flat-screen satellite TV. Some of them also feature balconies and air-conditioning. The Strunjan area offers numerous possibilities for cycling and hiking. Guests can make use of the pool and the restaurant of the sister Hotel Svoboda, which is only 350 metres away. Laguna’s guests enjoy special discounts at the nearby Salia Wellness Centre, which features numerous pools and spa treatments. The coastal resort towns of Piran, Portoroz and Izola are only 5 km away. Trieste is only 20 km away and its airport is 78 km away.

2. DAY: STRUNJAN

Breakfast at hotel. Free day in seaside city of Strunjan.

SLOVENIAN COAST TOUR

You will visit the Sešovlje Salina Natural Park, where you will get acquainted with the rich tradition of sea-salt harvesting in Slovenia. Afterwards we will visit seaside holiday town of Portorož, where you will have free time for walking on the beach, relaxing in nice bar or take a sea food lunch in local restaurant (supplement). Proceed to the picturesque town of Piran and finish with sightseeing of the city center of Koper, remarkable for its Venetian – style architecture. If there will be time, we can also visit one of traditional olive oil mill with degustation of olive oil (supplement). 

KARST EXPERIENCE

The first part of your trip will take you to the Lipica stud farm, one of the oldest stud farms in the world and home to the white Lipizzaner horses. The stud farm was also one of the sights visited by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II during her stay in Slovenia. At the farm, its possible be able to attend training sessions of the classical Lipizzaner riding school and in also on special days its possible to see one of their elegant riding shows (Tuesday and Sunday). After that, you will descend into the fascinating network of tunnels that make up the Škocjan Caves. The tunnels as well as one of the largest underground canyons in Europe were shaped by the Reka River winding through the karst landscape over centuries. The Škocjan Caves are a remarkable natural phenomenon whose global significance was recognized by their inclusion in UNESCO’s list of world cultural and natural heritage sites. We finish the tour in one of typical Karst WINE CELLARS with wine and the famous Karst dried ham tasting.

3. DAY: STRUNJAN – AIRPORT

Breakfast at the hotel. Free time till departure. Transfer to the airport (extra charge).
